Storyboards
This first storyboard documents the opening to our music video. The light open space is established in the beginning shots when identifying the characters and their situation. the clock symbolises the shift back in time to explain 'where it all went wrong'. In these shots we will use a wide long shot to establish the location and a number of point of view shots to show that the video documents the two characters journey and perspectives.
The representation of the glass is the climax of the couples argument which signals the breakdown of the relationship. The video continues to show the couples time apart and how unhappy they are. A combination of long and close up shots will be used to follow the glass falling and capture the spillage to show the widespread mess it has caused, much like their relationship. A high angle shot will be used to shoot the couple in different beds to generate an understanding of location and identify character movement.
Storyboard three shows the couple waking up and experiencing a normal day in each of their lives. A number of medium shots will be used to capture the sequence to both show the couples emty emotion and the action they are performing.
This storyboard shows both individuals walking through the landing in each of their houses and into the bathroom. This simple action will be shot using long and medium shots to establish the location and will be filmed from behind the character to symbolise that as an audience you are following them in their life and daily tasks.
Storyboard four focuses on the chorus of the song. This breaks up the narrative of their daily life but introduces the male singularly to identify with the male singing the song. A combination of establishing, long, medium and close up shots will be used to capture the action and the males emotion. Pans and still shots will be used to track and follow the character on his journey to 'clear his head'.
This storyboard shows the end few shots of the chorus with a point of view shot from the male character before reverting back and introducing both characters continuing the previous action. The last image shows the characters walking back into their rooms with a side shot as if the audience is watching them walk past.
In these sectors you can see the couple both beginning to do the same but then break apart and do different actions. This is to mimic the split in their relationship and how they have taken it. She is packing his things whilst he is still holding onto the memories. His shots will be eye level and close up to portray the emotion and allow the audience to identify with his feelings. Her shots will be low angle as to show her dominance in getting over what has become of them.

Lyric Annotation
Looking at the past will always fail,
All my favourite memories, they were bad for me, -When the two characters collected together each others things and reflect on what had been.
Looking at the things that cant be done,
Wheres the sense in trying to? Is there a present for you?
So I'll sing in time, I'll sing in key,
There both new ideas to me,
I won't be shy, I'll show you why,
Theres no getting rid of me. -Throughout the whole piece it is never just full screen of the female, he is always there.
Looking so distant all the time, makes me seem so meaningful, -Both sitting on bed holding an item, looking dismal.
But thats intentional,
My eyes are centralised on the floor, because of lack of confidence,-Male walking through fields looking at the floor.
I'm not a liar, I'm unsure.

Theres no getting rid of me. -Same as previous.
So I'll stand up tall for all to see,
Theres no getting rid of me, -Same as previous.
I won't decide where you can see,
Theres no getting getting rid of me.
Sun and see is always key and I am unsure,
and what i miss to coexist with those i should adore, -When the screens merge together and they become a couple again after existing along side each other.
Gravity has a secret core and i am coming round,
Conclusions of my own around the Earth live never.. found.
Although we have used the whole concept of the song, the lyrics highlighted in yellow show the main focal points of the action taking place. The grey writing beside it explains where the interpretations have been used as they are often not at the same time as the lyrics. This is because we wanted to keep continuity and not chop and change just to match the lyrics.
Filming Shots
Here is an image of the leveller on the camera so you can see that we ensures none of our shots were wonky.
In this image you can see Jordan standing so that we could ensure the distance of the camera was correct.
This photo shows us aligning the camera to capture the correct frame.
This shows the camera positioning that we wanted to use so that we could edit a shot reverse shot to capture the emotion, location and body language.
Here we are practicing the shot to check the positioning of the camera, that it is correct to our storyboards and incorporates everything we wanted to include.
In this image you can see us aligning the camera with Jordan in order to ensure we captured the frame we intended.
This photo shows the positioning of the camera in one of the shots we took.
This image shows Jordan setting up the camera and altering it in order to achieve our intended camera proxemics.
9-11-2011 Progress Update
In the past month we have filmed a considerable amount of our footage and begun editing. During the editing process we have learnt how to apply the intended effects we wanted to use such as split screen whilst also experimenting with different colour effects.
Due to work schedules we still have some footage to be filmed which will be completed over the next two weeks along with some additional individual research.
